ARCS focuses on providing personalized adoption services to our members. In order to provide this kind of service, it is necessary for us to get to know one another. We do this the following way.

ARCS has a two-phased registration process. The first step is a one-day workshop in Kingston. This workshop explores the intricacies of open adoption relationships. The fee is $300.00 plus GST. This one-day event gives you an opportunity to determine your readiness and willingness to enter an open adoption. It also gives you an opportunity to assess ARCS's procedures and staff to determine if they are compatible with your goals and value system.

The second step is a face-to-face intake meeting with the director, Jennie Painter, for a morning or afternoon to review your profile, birth parent letter, to discuss the kind of adoption you desire, and to elaborate on the characteristics you hope your child will possess. This session always take place days or weeks after the workshop. The fee is $250.00 plus GST.

Once registered with ARCS, we will send you a renewal form every January and July to determine if you still wish to remain on the waiting list and to review any changes in the kind of adoption or child that you may desire. This semi-annual fee is $50.00 (incl. GST).
